Differences that may affect your choice:
- Costs: KAST Standard has no annual fee. Its FX fee is 0.5%–1.75%, plus $0.10 on each non-USD purchase under $25. RedotPay has no card annual fee but higher issuance costs and about 2.2% on non-default-currency purchases.
- Reward requirements: KAST Standard is free and earns 1.5% on the first $2,000 in monthly spending. RedotPay requires Pro for 3%, and only Apple Pay or Google Pay purchases qualify.
- Using rewards: KAST USD rewards unlock after 14 days and can only be spent. RedotPay USDs expire after 30 days and can only be used for later card purchases. Neither can be withdrawn.
- App features: Only physical cards can be used at ATMs. KAST charges $3 plus 2% per withdrawal, with an additional FX fee for non-USD withdrawals. RedotPay also has a wallet, Credit account and Earn in the same app; KAST offers a USD account and Visa card.
- Paid tiers: KAST Premium and Private have high annual fees in exchange for higher reward rates and monthly spending caps. RedotPay has one paid plan, Pro.
Who is KAST for?
- People who want a free plan and spend no more than $2,000 per month to earn 1.5% in USD rewards.
- People who pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay and want no linking fee.
- People who want to start with Standard virtual cards and can accept a $2 issuance fee per card in some regions; Standard physical-card shipping is $40.
- Higher spenders willing to pay an annual fee for Premium or Private rewards and spending caps.
Who is RedotPay for?
- People who want to manage a wallet, Credit account and Earn in one app.
- People who mostly pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay, are willing to pay for Pro’s 3% rewards and accept the monthly 18 USDs cap.
- People who want a physical card and can accept the $100 issuance fee; Pro annual members get one physical-card issuance fee waived.
What to know before applying
- Both cards are custodial services. The card providers and custody partners hold the assets; KAST accounts have no loss insurance.
- KAST USD rewards can only be spent, not withdrawn. Premium and Private annual fees are non-refundable, and spending does not automatically upgrade your tier. A KAST account may be suspended after six consecutive months of inactivity.
- RedotPay Pro fees are generally non-refundable. Pro rewards and benefits must be used mainly in the country or region where Pro was activated, or they may be suspended.
- RedotPay’s Credit account requires crypto collateral. Interest is 0.05% per day, and liquidation occurs at a risk index of 0.9. This risk does not apply if you do not use Credit.
- Non-USD purchases incur FX costs on both cards. Neither can be linked to JKOPay.
