Oobit is a Visa virtual card for paying with cryptocurrency. Add it to Apple Pay or Google Wallet to tap to pay in stores. There is no card issuance or annual fee, and Taiwan is on Oobit’s official list of supported countries. To compare it with other cards, see the U card comparison. Fees and risks are covered below in What to know before applying.
What is Oobit? Company background
Oobit’s co-founder and CEO is Amram Adar.
In February 2024, Oobit completed a $25 million Series A led by Tether, with participation from CMCC Global’s Titan Fund, 468 Capital and Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko. An official July 2026 press release said users could spend supported digital assets at more than 150 million merchants that accept Visa.
The card runs on the Visa network and is described by the company as Visa Platinum. The issuer is Third National, and card access is provided by Lithuania-based Oobit Technologies UAB. Oobit also offers DePay, which can connect to self-custody wallets such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet and Phantom. Your assets remain in your own wallet until you authorize a transaction.
Payments and transfers support 22 assets, including USDC, USDT, BNB, BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and OOB.
Oobit rewards: stablecoin payments and OOB payments
Oobit has no paid card tiers. Rewards depend on the currency you use to pay and follow two separate tracks, each with a monthly cap; spending above the cap earns 0%.
| Item | Stablecoin payments | OOB payments |
|---|---|---|
| Payment currency | USDT or USDC | OOB (Oobit’s own token; convert to OOB first) |
| Reward rate | 5% | 10% |
| Monthly spending eligible | First $200 in spending | First $5,000 in spending |
| Reward cap | $10 per month | $500 per month |
| Reward type | Stablecoin | Token rewards |
| Payout timing | 1 to 3 days after payment | 1 to 3 days after payment |
| Card issuance and annual fees | 0 | 0 |
| Fee to convert to OOB | — | 3% |
Both reward tracks are available from level 1, and their caps reset each calendar month. Rewards can only be spent in the app with Tap to Pay; they cannot be withdrawn or transferred out.
There are also stackable 5X points. For each Tap to Pay purchase of at least $1, you earn 1 to 5 points per dollar, based on your tier at the time of payment; payments made after a tier upgrade use the new multiplier. Each 90-day cycle starts with your first qualifying payment. The next cycle starts at the tier your spending reached this cycle; if you make no purchases in the current cycle, you return to level 1. Points have no cap, and 1,000 points can be exchanged for $1. In Taiwan, points can be exchanged for USDT, which can only be used for Tap to Pay in the app.

Using Oobit in Taiwan
Taiwan appears in Oobit’s Help Centre country table: crypto cards, bank transfers, transfers to other users and rewards are all marked Yes. Local payment methods are not currently available. Oobit’s features depend on the country of residence set on your account.
For everyday payments, use Apple Pay or Google Wallet; Oobit’s official information says the card can be added to either wallet. Taiwan’s JKO Pay cannot be linked because it only allows credit cards issued by its partner banks in Taiwan, while Oobit’s issuer is the US-based Third National.
