What is Kolo? Company background

Kolo began as a Telegram mini app. A company press release says it was founded in 2022 and is owned by Hardline Holdings Limited. Its operating entity was first Cryppo, UAB in Lithuania, then changed to BURVIX SP. Z O. O. in Poland in January 2026. In July of the same year, Hardline Holding Limited, based in Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), took over service provision.

The CEO is Pavel Luchkovskyi. A company press release in May 2025 said the team had more than 100 people. By February 2026, Kolo had processed more than US$250 million in transactions.

The card is a virtual-only Visa debit card. There are two card products: the USD card is issued by Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, and the EUR card by the UK’s WIREX, LTD. The EUR card launched on July 1, 2026. Kolo assigns a card based on the results of your verification.

Since July 1, 2026, the wallet has been a self-custodial MPC wallet. Kolo holds a key share used for co-signing and can refuse to sign for restricted accounts. The USD balance linked to the card is a fiat balance and is not self-custodial.

Kolo rewards: USD and EUR cards

Kolo has no membership tiers. Eligible personal cards receive the applicable rewards automatically. The two products are calculated separately and their rewards cannot be combined. Rewards are paid in BTC. Each day, Kolo settles rewards for transactions cleared the previous day. Merchant category does not matter; business and co-branded cards are excluded.

  • Monthly fee: None.
  • Top-ups: Crypto deposits are free (0%).
  • USD transactions: At non-US merchants, the USD card charges a 1% conversion fee plus a 1% card issuer fee, for a total of 2%. At US merchants, the fee is 1%. A USD transaction on the EUR card incurs a 1% conversion fee plus a 1.35% foreign exchange fee.
  • ATM: Only the USD card supports ATM withdrawals. Use Apple Pay or Google Pay at a contactless ATM. Each withdrawal costs US$1 plus 0.65%, with a maximum of US$500 per transaction and three withdrawals in 24 hours. Balance inquiries and declined ATM transactions each cost US$0.60.
